About Xing Yi Quan

Xingyiquan (Chinese: 形意拳; pinyin: Xíng yì quán; Wade-Giles: Hsing I Ch'üan) is one of the major "internal" (nèijiā) Chinese Martial Arts. The word translates approximately to "Form/Intention Boxing", or "Shape/Will Boxing", and is characterized by aggressive, seemingly linear movements and explosive power. There is no single organizational body governing the teaching of the art, and several variant styles exist. Xingyiquan

History of Xingyiquan

[Ji Longfeng] (1588 CE (996 AH) - 1662 CE (1072 AH)) a Muslim from Shanxi province learned Xinyi from a nameless wandering priest. At that time China was newly taken over by the Rulers of the Qi'ng Dynasty (1644-1911AD), descendants of the Manchurian Nuzhen tribes of Yue Fei's time.
