About Sufism

Sufism is a branch of Islam that places emphasis on the esoteric elements of Islam. Within Islam, the remembrance of God and God awareness, is an essential core element. Many rituals such as prayers before food, what is recited when entering and leaving your house, traveling, waking in the morning, etc are all mechanisms to reinforce god awareness. Sufism places additional emphasis by organizing dhikr groups where Muslims gather to rember Allah, or retreats for contemplation. Many sufi organizations also have there own sources of interpretation (Tafsir) of Hadiths and Quran

What they says about Sufism

Zahid Adil

Sufism is not a branch or an addition to Islam. It is the spiritual heart of Islam which helps each individual recognise and start to understand who they are and who their Lord is. Sufism traces its origins back to the time of the Holy Prophet, Sayyidina

What most people do not understand about Sufism, is that there are two distinct types. Greater Sufism and Lesser Sufism. Lesser Sufism is what one mostly finds in London and in the U.K. It is basically a religious type of gathering, with Zikir and pray
