Take part in Chinese New Year London events and welcome the Year of the Ox in traditional, vibrant Chinese style.

Live performances Trafalgar Square will be transformed with a diverse selection of live performances again in February 2009. Although Chinese New Year actually takes place on the Monday 26th January, the London parade and dances happen a little later on Sunday 1st February. The massive Trafalgar Square event officially starts at 12pm, and will see traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances with modern music and dance, and a line up of visiting Chinese performers from the Qinghai and Kunming provinces in China. The 1st February celebrations also include Chinese acrobats and the first ever Hong Kong in London event in Shaftesbury Avenue, where local Chinese artists can showcase their talents.
