Whitefield School

Whitefield School is an established and successful Specialist Sports College and has been for eight years.Whitefield is a very friendly school and we value the positive relationships and warm feelings that visitors to the school comment on. All the teachers at Whitefield are university graduates in the subject they teach and I and the governors are very careful about ensuring that we appoint staff who are of the quality we require. In that way we can maintain the standards we have set.We have high expectations of our students; we insist on good and polite behaviour; but most of all we want students to succeed academically.

Examinations

Examination success is very important as these provide our students with future choices.We have a curriculum that meets all the requirements of the National Curriculum plus the advantages of an additional 100,000 a year, from having specialist status, to spend on providing high quality sporting experiences.You may know that we host The Football Academy, the aim of which is to provide aspiring students the training and support to allow them to really have a chance of making it in the world of professional football. Building on its success - five times as many of our students go on to play profesionally than do so from football club academies - we are planning to offer a similar level of training to elite level in a range of other sports.
