Students at Goldsmiths University are very welcome to come along and try out a class at Goldsmiths Jitsu club. Ju Jitsu is an effective self-defence martial art that can help to improve strength, fitness, flexibility, co-ordination and posture. If you have ever wanted to try out a martial art and didn’t know where to start, now’s the time. As one of only a few martial arts clubs at Goldsmith’s university, Jitsu can help improve self-esteem and confidence and is also great way to have fun and a fantastic way to meet new friends, especially during the early weeks of university. The club has rapidly grown over the past few years into a vibrant and highly sociable club with club events and socials throughout the year. The first session is FREE with subsequent sessions costing only £2 which is highly reasonable in comparisons to other forms of martial arts. Training starts in earnest on Tuesday 2nd October 2007, although beginners can join throughout the year. Training times are 7pm – 9pm Tuesday and Thursday evenings and take place at the Upper Gym Hall, Lockwood Building (next to The Pulse gym) of Goldsmiths University. Turn up in loose tousers and an old t-shirt. If you have any queries, feel free to email the club instructor on bevism@gmail.com We look forward to seeing you soon.
