The East London Uechi-Ryu has been operating for very close to 25 years. The chief instructor Terry Daly has been practicing karate for 31 years and holds the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt or 6th Dan. As a competitor Terry has won both English and British championships and has represented England and Great Britain at European and World Championships. At International level won European Team Silver and European Individual Open Weight Bronze. As a coach many of Terry’s students have won medals at British and English championships and the last time that Great Britain won the World Karate Championships 2 of Terry’s students Wayne Otto and Charles Bailey were on that British Team. Wayne is from Hackney and Charles from Bow. Wayne went on to be 9 times World Karate Champion.
