Traditional acupuncture has a successful 2,000 year history of treatment based on the unique nature and balance of each individual. Today this is known as holistic medicine. Back then it was simply founded on the understanding that treating the person, and not the illness alone, is the best way to encourage and maintain long-term health. The BAcC is committed to carrying the spirit and integrity of this ancient tradition into the twenty-first century. Traditional acupuncture is able to adapt to the needs of modern healthcare while still retaining its essence. This is what makes it one of the most popular complementary therapies in the UK today. The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) was formed in 1995. With nearly 3,000 members we represent the largest body of professional acupuncturists in the UK and guarantee excellence in the following areas:
The acupuncture profession will be statutorily regulated by 2010. Until then the BAcC is committed to protecting both the public and its members by providing a similar level of safeguards. For enquiries contact: info@acupuncture.org.uk
